Jury

The arduous task of evaluating is enhanced by sharing this responsibility with other peers, in a process rich in diverse perspectives and enhanced by the unique worldviews of each member that makes up this panel.
The Cinalfama jury is made up of film makers: some of the most influential and respected personalities on the Portuguese and international film scene and including winners from past editions, who have since become important voices in their countries.

Pedro Costa

He abandoned his History studies to attend classes taught by the poet and filmmaker António Reis at the Escola Superior de Cinema. His first film Blood had its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival in 1989. House of Lava premiered at Cannes in 1994 and received the Grand Prize
at the Belfort Festival in 1995. Ossos received an Osella D'Oro at the Venice Festival in 1997. In Vanda's room it was awarded the France Culture Prize at the Cannes Festival and the Grand Prize at the Yamagata Festival, 2001. The rabbit hunt with pau, a segment of the collective film Memories, co-directed with Eugène Green and Haroun Farocki, received the Silver Leopard at the Locarno Festival in 2008.
